Introduction of NCCC and NCCC–Edmonton

The National Congress of Chinese Canadians (NCCC) was formally established in 1992, following the National Conference of Chinese Canadians held in Toronto in 1991. As the first nationwide organization representing Chinese Canadians, the NCCC has been committed to uniting Chinese Canadian communities, safeguarding their rights, encouraging civic engagement, and contributing to Canada’s multicultural development.
全加华人联会（National Congress of Chinese Canadians, 简称 NCCC）于 1992 年正式成立，总会源自 1991 年在多伦多召开的全国华人代表大会。作为加拿大首个全国性的华人联合组织，全加华联长期致力于团结各地华人社团，维护华人合法权益，促进华人积极融入加拿大主流社会，并推动多元文化的发展。
Mandate (Purpose & Mission)
宗旨与使命
The mandates of the NCCC–Edmonton are:
- Unity & Cooperation – To promote unity and cooperation among Chinese Canadians.
- Rights & Advocacy – To garner the resources of Chinese Canadians in a unified effort to safeguard and advance their legitimate rights and interests as full members of Canadian society.
- Community Enrichment – To encourage and promote activities which will enrich the cultural, educational, social, economic and political life of Chinese Canadians in local, provincial and national affairs.
- Cultural Preservation & Exchange – To promote the retention of Chinese language, culture and heritage and to encourage and enhance the understanding and appreciation thereof by other ethnic communities of one another’s history, culture, tradition and heritage.
- Contribution to Canada – To strive for and contribute to the unity, harmony, equality prosperity, ethnoculturalism and general well-being of Canada.
全加华人联会埃德蒙顿分会的主要宗旨是：
- 促进团结合作 —— 团结加拿大华人，加强社群内部合作。
- 维护权益 —— 集中华人力量，维护和提升华人在加拿大社会中的合法权益和地位。
- 丰富社区生活 —— 鼓励并推动文化、教育、社会、经济及政治层面的参与和活动。
- 传承与交流 —— 传承和推广中文语言、中华文化与传统，并促进不同族裔之间的理解与欣赏。
- 贡献加拿大 —— 为加拿大的团结、和谐、平等、繁荣、多元文化和整体福祉而努力。
